The first INKA was impulsively designed in March 2009 just before a night out. Receiving dozens of compliments on her accessory Katinka decided to follow a long lost dream and in May 2009 her company INKA was founded.
This is all happining while Katinka is studying music.
In 2006 Katinka had two options - she would either strive to become a musician or a designer. At that time she chose music. She has for several years been playing with two of the most established Danish bands and artists Oh Land and Efterklang.
During summer 2012 she finised her BA in classical singing from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. She moved back to Copenhagaen and is now working as freelance singer, always developing new concepts and ideas both with INKA and musically.
Katinka is inspired by a fabric's soft lightness, its ability to be shaped, folded, tied modeled and recycled.
INKA has launched 2 collections but has during its lifetime changed from being a regular brand following the seasons, into an independent art project.
Katinka produces now only when inspiration is present. Her newest obsession is without any doubt working with sustainable material. So stay tuned.
INKA power!
